Thank You for assisting Bruce and I in selling our home. After two real estate agents tried unsuccessfully to sell our house, we had lost faith that we would ever sell it. Here is our story:
We had originally placed our house for sale in June 2006. Initially we chose a realtor who did not believe in Open Houses and after 3 months on the market and no offers, we decided to refinance and take it off the market.
In September 2006, my husband and I separated and we both decided it would be best to sell the house. Unfortunately, the real estate market was even worse than it was before and houses were staying on the market for even longer. This time we made the mistake of choosing a real estate agent who had no marketing plan and was unfamiliar with the area. We were starting to run out of time. At this point, we were desperate, exasperated and both feeling like we would lose the house to foreclosure. In November 2006, the realtor’s contract expired and I started looking for another agent. Luckily my friend who also lives in the area had just received a newsletter from Robert Pitts and suggested that I probably should choose a local realtor.
This time I interviewed 3 local agents and by far Robert Pitts was the best. He had a solid marketing strategy, which included the internet, mass mailings and advertising in newspapers and real estate publications. His knowledge and contacts were extensive and he was very understanding of our situation. He negotiated several offers and did not jump at the first deal that came around. In February 2007, just 3 months later, we ended up successfully getting the full price that we were asking for.
